Silverlight Muffins

About

Adam Elmore

adam

I don’t have the typical “computer geek” background. I didn’t even take an interest in computers until my senior year of high school in 2005. At that time, I realized I needed to start thinking about what I would do with my life, occupationally speaking. After going to my freshman orientation at Missouri State University, I choseĀ  to pursue a BS in Computer Science after a brief description from my adviser (”It’s a lot of Math and computer programming. . . stuff like that”). Shortly after, I fell in love with software development and began my adventure in this crazy field.

As I became passionate about Microsoft technologies, I quickly realized that I wasn’t learning the things that I craved. After a couple of years attending school at Missouri State, I decided to take a break and pursue freelance work. I’m now doing Silverlight development full-time and trying my best to get more involved in the Microsoft community.

I’m married to the most amazing wife any man could ask for and we live in a small town in Southern Missouri near the high school we attended. When I’m not at a computer I enjoy playing golf (though not as often as I’d like), reading, and spending time with Kacey (my wife).

Muffins?

What’s a Silverlight muffin, you ask? Just enough information to wet your appetite, but still leave you hungry for more. The idea of this blog is to provide news, tips, and other Silverlight related goodness in perfectly portioned posts. Mmmm.

Silverlight – My Favorite “Web Design” Technology

Silverlight

I was in Barnes & Noble over the weekend, browsing through the technology sections (picked up “Microsoft .NET: Architecting Applications for the Enterprise” by Dino Esposito) when I realized I wasn’t seeing any Silverlight books. I looked through various “programming” categories without any luck. I had decided that this particular small-town BN (Springfield, MO) might [...]

Forward Time Travel & MSDN Roadshow Events

I had a good laugh when I saw that my last post was the night before the official Silverlight 3 release. I started this blog with good intentions, but the last month has been a whirlwind. I must have been one of the few people writing LOB Silverlight applications for a living that hadn’t touched [...]
